Six Inches Fall Drench Cameron Milam County Farmland
Rainfall totaling near six inches drenched Milam County farms by Tuesday night, Cameron reporting the season’s largest fall in two years. San Gabriel and Little River rose rapidly, with some overflow risk, while county crews, led by engineer A F Mitchell, cleared bridge obstructions. Roads south of Cameron became impassable, detours to Yarrellton and routes via Granger and Taylor used. The rain should boost fall feed, winter grains, and ranges and restore next year’s confidence, though more rain is needed.
