The present Beaumat city began with 1824 settlement by Noah Tevis and early settlers William Mc Fadda Henry Millard and Joan Beaumont. Millard named it after his brother Jefferson Beaumont a Natchez Mississippi merchant later a Texas Chief Justice. Incorporation came in 1881 and the last railroad reached in 1876, the Texas and New Orleans line.
G W Wirt of Nacogdoches Texas cites a daughter afflicted with chills and fever for three years who improved after using Herbine. His wife insists on keeping it at home and praises its effects. Otto Dodd of Missouri declares Arnica salve cured a year long ugly sore and praises it as the best salve on earth.Geo Sons Drug Store sells 25 cents per box. The first Texas hog business pioneer was Mitchell at Mitchell's Bend near Austin.
An advertisement claims sunlight as nature's disinfectant and presents Dr. R V Pierce of Buffalo as developer of Golden Medical Discovery a non alcoholic alterative said to aid digestion blood formation and waste elimination. Also promotes Pleasant Pellets as a laxative for all ages.
Frederick Ernest led the family to Texas settling where Industry stands today. He became the first Texan to market cigars and tobacco, establishing a pioneering local industry.
An Oklahoma ad notes Horehome syrup sold by Geo A Thomas & Sons offering relief for coughs and sleepless nights. The piece then recalls the Texas Federation of Labor first convention in Cleburne January 15 17 1900 with delegates from Cleburne Galveston Waco Fort Worth Houston Dallas and San Antonio. I N Graves credited as Father of the Federation.
