Milam County Urged to Observe Fire Prevention Week
Milam Farm Bureau leaders urge residents to observe National Fire Prevention Week October 8 to 14. Fire Chief Sheriff Carl Black warns against fire risks from matches and smoking and stresses safe use of electrical systems. Farm Bureau programs fund fire training and equipment for rural fires, with 1000 firefighters attending trainings in nine years and more than 28 000 extinguishers sold to members. Walter Richter joins Texas Electric Cooperatives as Executive Assistant, bringing legislative and civic experience to support rural electrification.
