A hard hitting guard Stanislaw, an all district guard and letterman, returns for a second season under the maroon. He will lead Cameron into the opening conference game Friday night, carrying the hopes of thousands of Cameron fans.
The Yeomen start the 1955 District Conference slate Friday at Yee Field in Cameron, facing Thrall in their third game of the season and first conference contest. Cameron previously defeated Thrall 6 to 0 in 19384 amid a score controversy.
Hill charged by indictment with murder in connection with the 1 a.m. shooting of night policeman George Richards on September 22. Trial set for October 7 in district court with a special venire summoned. Attorneys John Watson and DeWitt Bowmer represent Hill. Habeas corpus bond hearing discussed. no hearing held yet.

Sheriff Max Kennedy foiled Charles A. Baumgardner during a jail escape attempt. Authorities report Baumgardner tried to pry bricks from a wall with a flat instrument around eleven o clock. He was moved to another cell and later transported to Huntsville. He is 18 and was sentenced to ten years for burglary.
Baby Hill, cafe owner, faced in district court with attorneys seeking a habeas corpus writ to post bond after being indicted in the fatal shooting of night watchman George Richards at 1 a.m. on September 22. Judge Gillis set a Wednesday hearing. bond of 812,500 was approved Wednesday afternoon.
Cameron shoppers await the C. W. Bradbury store annual fall opening in Cameron. Bradbury notes this sale offers new quality merchandise at sale prices, a rare bargain in his 15 years of store fame. The sale opens Friday morning with ads in the Herald reaching readers Wednesday night.
Three men including S Brumbelow and John H Dees of Rockdale and carnival man C W Dozier were arrested over the weekend by Constable W Colvin of Rockdale for making counterfeit money. The suspects were taken to Austin for custody.
The National Youth Administration offers grants for single men and women aged 16 to 25 lacking funds for textbooks meals and transport to attend school from fall term to June 30 1966. Eligibility includes age single relief family member status high grade work and lack of other aid. Aid up to six dollars monthly and applications must be filed by October 12 1935 with the County Superintendent Milam County has 40 slots and blanks available at school offices.
W A L Robinson owner of Robinson Service Station announces the opening of the Budget Department. He says the Budget Pay Plan allows any size purchase with easy liberal terms and is flexible to fit every purse. Joe S Picker and Mrs Picker of Dallas visit Cameron friends.
The Burlington road district plans an 11 mile lateral road upgrade and a $16,000 bond election within 50 days. Works Progress Administration approval was announced via telegram from Congressman Cross, with contract awaiting presidential signature. Projects aim to boost Burlington trade and benefit property owners.
Milam County Baptist Association will convene in Cameron starting Tuesday at 2 30 p m and continue through Friday. Dr Marshall Craig of Dallas will preach Thursday night at 7 30 p m. Pastor N D Timmerman announces a week of prayer with services each night except Thursday. All are invited.
Howard Terry, captain and full back from the Yoenen team of 1038, starts for the University of Texas against A. & I. Coach Jack Chevingy praises Terry as tough, mean, and the best right tackle on the squad. He switched from center to tackle this fall and earlier played tackle in junior days. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Terry.
