Milam County Election Totals Show Democratic Victory
Totals from Milam County’s late November general election show the national Democratic ticket winning by 368 votes, with the county Democratic slate defeating the American Party in all local races. Voters cast 53,438 total ballots in Milam, the heaviest in history, amid strong anti American Party sentiment and a near solid Black and Tan showing among the African American vote.
