A recipe describes a frosty pumpkin pie using canned or cooked pumpkin with vanilla ice cream and molasses, folded into the pumpkin and frozen in a 9 inch crust. A separate crust method uses lard, flour and water, baked 450 F for 12 to 15 minutes. Also notes pork sausage as another flavor contributor.
Separate sausage and brown in a pan then reserve drippings. Mix mashed sweet potatoes with flour sugar egg orange juice rind and browned sausage. Bake in a prepared pie plate 360 F for 30 minutes until set and top is crisp using corn flakes crumbs and reserved drippings. Serves 4 to 6.
