Store Robbery Near Cameron Sparks Transit Suspicions

No arrests had been made as of late Wednesday after a Saturday night robbery at the R. L. Batte store near the Batte Industries in Cameron. Sheriff Kennedy suspects the robbers were transients who fled on a night freight.

Poultry Show Set for Cameron Friday through Sunday

Future Farmers Poultry Show in Cameron opens Thursday November 19 and goes to Saturday night with judging Friday. The event in the Mauritz Baldwin building is directed by E I Parnell superintendent John William Baldwin secretary and C E Woodum assistant. Fifty five departments of vocational agriculture invited open to all breeders with emphasis on Future Farmers. Poultry from twelve counties expected. Prizes total include cash awards for top breeding stock market poultry and eggs plus special boys awards and grand champion honors. Coops supplied birds cared for free and no entry fee required. Show open Friday and Saturday night.

New Vegetable Counter Installed at C. F. Green Store

Charles F. Green Cash Grocery announced the installation of a new Victor vegetable counter this week. The steel enamel counter includes a sprinkler system to keep produce fresh and sanitary under all conditions. Green says the store is now modernly equipped to handle foods.

The D A R in Cameron announced Tuesday that undernourished children needing meals were financed at the Ada Henderson Cafeteria. The local chapter contributed five dollars to support the effort.

The Yoemen win the District 26 B title with 124 points against foes and a flawless goal line. Hughes Boy Athlete Moves to Yee High School

A 15 year old guard weighing 145 pounds from Dallas entered Yee High School this September. He attended Colonial Grade School and played one quarter on the B team last year. As a sophomore he is expected to be a valuable line player next year.

In a hard fought district 26 B contest, the Yeomen prevented Belton from scoring while producing no offense of their own. Cameron to Host Friday Poultry Judging Contest

Cameron's first poultry judging contest occurs Friday November 20 as part of the Central Texas FFA show. Fifteen teams are expected with invitations extended within 50 miles.
