Dallas, Tex November 6 The executive board of the United Daughters of the Confederacy met at 4 pm to consider charges that Mrs Adelbert Warren Mears of Baltimore was not legally elected Maryland division president. Other issues include Gainesville Florida chapter insubordination and a Kentucky Jefferson Davis farm memorial proposal awaiting action.

Suspected forged notes in Watson murder trial at Teague
In Waco Texas on November 7 witnesses testified in the T R Watson murder case that they did not sign notes bearing their names linked to the Farmers and Merchants bank of Teague where Watson is president. Postmaster J E Woods and Clint Henderson denied signing notes dated 1916 and 1915 respectively. Lawyers for Watson asked for a suspended sentence if he is convicted of manslaughter.

Turkey Gobbler Brings Record Price at Dublin
In Dublin Texas on November 7 the Dublin Produce Company paid a farmer 6.60 for one 125 pound gobbler, matching high local turkey prices. The piece notes turkeys reaching the highest mark ever known locally at 19 12 cents yesterday. A five month old girl from Mr and Mrs Knipp died October 29 after illness and congestion. Rev W R Hall conducted the funeral. Mrs S M Burns and daughter Hassel visited in Waco over the weekend, staying with Mr and Mrs Joe Collier and attending the Cotton Palace.

Silver bullion shipped to German submarine Deutchland
Six and a half tons of silver bullion from the San Francisco mint were unloaded in New London Connecticut and moved in five open wagons to the German merchant submarine Deutchland moored at the state pier for ocean shipment.
