Milam County 4-H Awards Honor Top Achievements
Milam County 4-H Achievement Program on October 26 recognized Gold Star and Pearl Clover award recipients for 1963. Reed Davis and Gwendolyn Jistel earned top honors. many youths received various agricultural, clothing, dairy, beef, and leadership awards with dedicated adult leaders honored. About 150 Milam County residents attended at Methodist Fellowship Hall with officers presenting and club members assisting.

County agents and Cameron Chamber of Commerce finalize plans for a Pecan and Food show in Cameron on December 6 and 7. Milam County residents may enter pecans and baked goods, totals limited to one entry per class, with pecans from the 1963 crop and grown by the exhibitor.

Gaeke of Rosebud Texas has graduated from the Air Force transition training course for C 130 Hercules Night mechanics at Stewart AFB Tennessee He trained in flight simulators turbo prop systems and ground and inflight maintenance He is reassigned to Dyess AFB Texas for duty with the 346th Troop Carrier Squadron.
