Four Lives Lost In Weekend Tragedies
The Memorial Day weekend brought multiple deaths including two drownings in Little River slough and a fatal plane crash. Justice of the Peace Jess Brock ruled accidental drowning for Ray Jensen 54 and Jose Guadalupe Camacho 25, swept from horses during a flood. Tom Jensen survived after clinging to a horse’s tail. Rescue units from Cameron, Rockdale, Hearne, Rosebud, Harris County divers, Fort Hood helicopters, and the DPS assisted in the search and recovery.

Cameron trustees approve gym repairs and science lab conversion
Cameron school trustees authorized Supt. Buddy Dulin and architect John Allen to draw bids for gym repairs and converting 3000 square feet upstairs into science labs with space for restrooms and concession on the east end.
