A 7000 strong crowd celebrated the opening of the Little River bridge and causeway on May 17. A two mile parade preceded ceremonies led by E A Perring. Judge Dan Tyson hosted the program and honored the late Jeff T Kemp. Mrs Kemp cut the ribbon, citing memory of her husband. Fred Knetch urged the 100 year wait ended by wartime delays. Senator Kyle Vick had pledged the bridge’s future when elected.

Cold front clears Gulf region with warm-up ahead
