Area students earn college degrees and certificates
Thirty seven area graduates from Temple College received associate degrees and certificates May 16. Names span Cameron, Burlington, Milano, Rogers, Thorn Dale and more, with multiple degrees per student. Brennan Peel from Milano also among Southwestern University spring degree recipients cum laude. University of Mary Hardin Baylor and UT Austin graduates noted with degrees and fields.

Cameron Independent School District trustees hired seven new teachers including Brandon Grigsby Angela Marburger Warren Sanders and Carolyn Long and added Danielle Roberts as assistant band director Pete Rhoades and Billy Anderson as coaches They swore in Randy Miller as new board member and approved resale of trust property R16406 Alana McDermott received an 11 month contract.

Kostroun Earns $5000 Youth Livestock Scholarship
Logan Allan Kostroun, a graduating senior at C. H. Yee High School, receives a four year 5000 dollar Youth Livestock Show Scholarship from the State Fair of Texas Renewable at 1250 dollars a year upon maintaining a 3.0 GPA. He competed in the Youth Livestock Show in 2003 and 2004 and earned first place team in Plant Identification. Kostroun plans agricultural engineering at Texas A M and is the son of David and Jennifer Kostroun of Cameron. He also won 3rd place in Plant Sciences at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Reno, Nevada May 9 15.

Temple College offers summer registration at Cameron Center
Regular registration runs through May 27 for six and eight week summer sessions starting June 1. Courses span English, social science, developmental math, and new hybrid Public Speaking. Locations include Cameron Center and Temple main campus with hours during regular office times and a contact number for information.
