Oldest County Agent in Country Is Milam Man
George Banzhaf of Milam County is described as the longest-serving county agent in the United States with over nineteen years in the job. The piece outlines his focus on soil conservation terracing and boys club work, his early demonstrations starting in 1908, and the growth of corn cotton and pig clubs, plus the role of local support and Kennon’s claim of discovering him.
