Students working this summer may be exempt from income tax withholding. R L Phinney, IRS District Director, says those who owed no tax last year and expect none this year should file Form W 4E to claim exemption, avoiding next year tax returns unless withholdings occurred. Exemption certificates expire April 30 yearly. new ones needed. Employers can obtain Form W 4E from IRS offices.
