Screen Plantings Aid Home Beauty
Texas A&M University landscape horticulturist Dr William Welch describes screen plantings as living fences that boost privacy and curb appeal. Clipped hedges suit small to medium lots but need frequent pruning. free growing hedges work for larger areas. Vines on fences add interest, while trees can form boundary lines on larger properties. Regular pruning maintains shape and size, with periodic longer cuts to the prior year growth.
