Daughters of the Confederacy sponsored a Tuesday morning ceremony decorating graves in Oak Hill cemetery. Floral tributes were placed at Confederate and Union graves, with services led by Miss Mollie Moore. Government headstones marked several Confederate graves including an unnamed Union soldier memorial. Local residents and relatives, such as Mrs. Pete Hefti and Mrs. W. L. Cannan, attended.
Judge Jeff T Kemp and M G Cox returned from Mexia Wednesday night after attending the Grand Lodge. Kemp represented Cameron Lodge No 125 and Cox serves as Grand Trustee of the Orphans Home in Weatherford.
