The Masonic Lodge of Cameron hosts Capt S Alberti an escaped Siberian convict for a May 13 night lecture at the Auditorium. He describes Siberia with prison life, 150 stereoptical views and moving pictures plus firsthand exile experiences across Russia. Admission is free.
John H. Bickett carried Mc Lennan County for state treasurer and J T Linder won for state senator though a heavy vote against him. Henry for congress led by at least 1200. Curtis won easily for railroad commissioner. W Baker renominated for sheriff and O H Cross an easy county attorney winner.
The term's dispositions include Lehman v I G N R R with $3500 to plaintiffs, Crouch v I G N R R with $1000 to Emily Crouch, Arnold v Western Union Telegraph Co with $1235 to plaintiff, Robinson v G C S P R R with $1500 to plaintiff, Carothers v Lange with defendant winning and costs, and divorces granted in Ella Martin v C L Martin and Paralee Williams v Hamp Williams.
Sunday rain blessed crops and community health remained good. Visitors include Dr Denson's two Mississippi brothers and Mr James de Crendon of Alabama. Ruby Williams, daughter of Prof JT Williams, has recovered from illnesses. An ice cream supper is planned for the church at Ben Arnold on the 16th to raise funds, with thanks for announcements.

Last Tuesday afternoon the city council met at City Hall with Mayor Ralston presiding. Officers presented April income and expense reports, including occupation and ad valorem taxes, and approved numerous small payments. A long audit of city books from 1895 onward showed a balance due the city of 853.33.
The council agreed on electing three school board members B J Baskin J S Hefley and S M Byrne. A street commissioner C J Ruby was reappointed with a daily wage increase from 1.50 to 2.90. Meeting adjourned with no further business.
The Christian church will examine Josephus Pilate the blind man the woman of Samaria and others to hear their view of Jesus the Christ in a discourse titled Testifying as to Christ. The sermon was postponed from last Sunday by Pastor Seong. The morning subject will be THE FIRST MARCHING ORDERS. Last Sunday was Home Mission.
Inclement weather postponed the mission rally to next Sunday. The pastor asks that many attend and prepare to recite verses about missions, with extra music planned for the morning service. A 4 percent offering for Home Missions is urged amid calls to Christianize the world as workers mobilize.
