Damages Paid in Suit Over Live Wire Injury

J H Angell and son J H Jr received sixteen thousand dollars in an agreed district court judgment against Texas Power and Light Co following an injury when J H Jr contacted a fallen live wire. Angell and Jr shared the settlement with attorney H B Beard of Waco.

Mrs Cora Cammer Ill in City Social Leader

Mrs Cora Cammer lies critically ill at her daughter Mrs Ed Balhorn home as pneumonia complications threaten recovery. A longtime social worker and head of associated charities she is revered as the citys first citizen for selfless service. Her husband the late John Cammer once edited the Herald.

Stewart Grocery Burglarized Here Saturday Night

Burglars entered the B. F. Stewart Grocery through a skylight on Saturday night and pried open the cash register taking about $12 in small change. The safe knob was knocked off and checks lay scattered in the rear of the store. Mr. Stewart discovered the robbery about 8 o clock Sunday morning. Sheriff Kennedy was notified, no arrests made.

Former Cameron Boyhood Resident Dies in Sipe Springs

John Diver, once a Cameron youth about 50 years ago, died at his Sipe Springs home on Wednesday April 24 at 9 a.m. Funeral services were conducted at the Rockdale new cemetery at 10 a.m. He is survived by his widow and two sons, R. M. Diver and Lee Diver of Sipe Springs.

Denson Suit Against Texas Power & Light Up for $6683

Penn Wolf district clerk reports the Supreme Court has affirmed Mrs Florence Denson’s $6000 lawsuit from 1931 against Texas Power and Light Company for injuries after a crash. Attorney Winbourne Pierce says settlement is forthcoming. W B Denson joins the suit but will receive only a small portion of the total judgment of $6683.35.

Confederate Graves Decorated Sunday Memorial Service Held

Graves of Confederate soldiers were decorated Sunday during annual memorial services led by W. D. Paden. Miss Mollie Moore gave the devotional and the crowd sang How Firm a Foundation. Judge Graham Gillis read the Confederate dead names in Cameron cemeteries and Judge Jeff T Kemp listed living Confederates in Milam County now at the Confederate home in Austin.
