Kunz In Good Condition After Train Car Crash

August Kunz of Cameron jumped from the path of a Santa Fe passenger train at the Rusk Street crossing Sunday night after signaling his stalled car. The south bound train struck the 1965 Ford, three hours late, injuring Kunz and damaging the vehicle. Frank A. Rogers, the engineer, said Kunz tried to signal in time but could not avoid the collision. Kunz was treated for head lacerations and chest injuries at St. Edward Hospital and reported in good condition by Wednesday.

City Enforces Stray Dog Order in Cameron Area

City officials announce enforcement of the stray dog ordinance after reports of rabid animals. Vaccination drive set for 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday March 11 in the City Hall lot. Untagged dogs will be seized, held for three days at the city pound beside the sewer plant, and destroyed if unclaimed.

No additional candidates filed by the March 4 deadline at City Hall leaving three Council seats uncontested. Incumbents Starrett Hickmann and Lawrence Zotz and former Cameron postmaster John Hays are listed. The election is set for April 4, first Tuesday. J. C. Marek will not seek re election.
