School Board OKs O J Thomas school expansion plans

The Cameron Independent School Board approved plans and specifications by Preston Geren and Son for an additon on the O J Thomas school grounds. Architects will submit to contractors soon with bids due March 28 at 2 p.m. in Supt W T Hames' office. Construction should start before summer.

Assault to Murder Charged in Rockdale Shooting

Lafe Graham of Rockdale faces assault to murder charges after a weekend shooting that wounded his wife near-mortally. Sheriff Carl Black said the discharge appeared accidental amid a scuffle over a pistol. Mrs Graham remained hospitalized with non fatal injuries. Linda Graham and Mrs Echols were also hurt. a .44 40 pistol and a .30 06 rifle were collected at the scene.

Milam Courthouse Needs 5985 More Square Feet

Dahl Engineers proposed a new jail office building and repairs to Milam Courthouse to add 5,885 square feet at over $130 per square foot, totaling more than seven figures. The Milam County Bar Association opposed steps from the architects report as too costly, while offering cooperation with the court. Youth Rallies Set Ahead of Crusade Week

The Crusade for Christ program starts March 11 with a United Youth Rally at the Methodist Church on March 10 at 7 30 pm. Guest speaker Dickey Spinn, Southwestern University student, speaks.
