Catridge Belt Of Sam Bass Donated To University
The belt worn by Sam Bass during his last fight with Texas Rangers at Round Rock in 1878 is now with the University of Texas. Archivist Mrs. H. A. Hatcher notes the relic was presented by Sam A. Arnett of Lubbock. The belt holds 13 cartridges and shows wear from the battle. two loops are broken likely from flying bullets.
