Three Face Cattle Theft Charge Here

Sheriff Kennedy will seek indictments for cattle theft at the March term against two white men and a black farmhand who were arrested after an ongoing investigation. The suspects are Carl Wiese Herman Patsky and Levi Watkins. Bond for the whites is $500 each and $1000 for Watkins. The stolen cattle were recovered at Cross Roads after tracks and a trap led to the trio.

Stanley Swift announced Wednesday that the Cameron Theatre will show the national sensation film Hurricane on Sunday and Monday March 14 and 15. The picture drew large crowds in Texas cities after its release and remains a popular feature.

War veteran multiplies bonus by dairy cows in Oklahoma

J. W. Clements, a Marlow area veteran, invested his 1936 veteran's bonus in Jersey cows. He started with one cow and now owns 24 dairy cows and a registered bull. He bought 12 cows with the bonus and has doubled his herd since investing his war service money. He says he has done well.

Daily Quits After 7 Months A Cameron Daily

A small Cameron daily published by the Cameron Enterprise for seven months has been discontinued due to lack of advertising patrons. The third Cameron newspaper to suspend, launched in August 1937, reflects wider difficulties for small towns with rural Milam county’s 70 percent rural population and high costs of sustaining a meritorious daily.

Morrison Announces Again for Milam County District Attorney

Burlington to Stage Play Sunday Night

The play A Southern Cinderella featuring home talent will be staged in Burlington Hall Sunday night March 6 at 8 o clock. Proceeds go to St Michael s Parish treasury. The cast features Enid Bellamy Catherine Martin and Mrs Jas Bush among others with musical numbers between acts.

Judging Teams To Leave Cameron For Moody Area Contest

Four FRA judging teams will depart Cameron early Saturday for the Moody area judging contest. Fifty-one schools seed three to four teams each, with Cameron entering four divisions. Crops team includes Randolph Henson Herbert Schattle and Eddie Allison. Poultry team features Dana Monroe James Brock and Lyle McDermott. Soil conservation team comprises Walter Anderle Albert Crowell and Barney McLerran. Dairying contenders include Van Sweet Van Hickman and Garland Follis in the first division.

W Melton Dies at Minerva Home

Funeral services for I. W. Melton of Minerva were held Saturday at the residence. The pioneer died Friday aged year. Burial followed in Shiloah Cemetery near Franklin in Robertson County. He was the father of Mrs R L Batte Jr of Thorndale.
