An account recalls Vidal alias Vidal a Mexican horse thief whose head was cut off and tied to a wild horse after a raid in Southwest Texas. Vigilantes led by Creed Taylor Flores and Big Foot Wallace pursued him, inspired legends and a Mayne Reed novel. Many land and oil leases follow in the latter half of the clipping.
