Rescue System Develops For Submarine Crews
The U S Navy has unveiled a deep diving rescue system including the DSRV-2 to reach depths up to 5 000 feet. The 50 foot submersibles mate with stricken submarines on the sea floor and can deliver up to 24 crewmen per mission. Experiments test heat loss on divers in near freezing water, even with heated suits.
