The summer girls softball program features weekly Tuesday and Thursday play at 7 30 p m between the Indians and Dodgers for the championship. A four year old colored girl in Rockdale is reported to have paralytic poliomyelitis, the leading notable disease in the county. Three cases of virus pneumonia and 25 of measles follow in order.

Free Garbage Pickup Authorized In Cameron Districts

Cameron city council authorized free weekly garbage collection for residents in five districts. Only trash in 10 to 30 gallon containers bundled and placed by the can will be collected, with special service charged at $1 per pickup. Regular service remains free.

Twenty six youngsters formed a bowling league on June 13 led by Mrs. Jodie Pernice and Mrs. Ann Schuttle. They also offer miniature golf at half price at the Knights of Columbus facility. Players pay 20 cents per bowling line and 15 cents per miniature golf game. Episcopalians Plan Regular Friday Evening Youth Programs

All Saints Episcopal Church in Cameron opens a weekly Friday youth program in the parish hall. The event invites youths from other churches and will be chaperoned by parents and a youth committee. Music is recorded and refreshments are soft drinks on the honor system.

A Milam County public meeting heard a proposal for a farm market road from Cameron to Yarrellton via Marak. Judge Charlie Smith warned it would be the most expensive and difficult to build. Petition with 147 signatures urged consideration by the Commissioners Court.

Cameron School Board hired Yarborough, Barge, Vance Temple CPAs to complete an audit by September 1 at an estimated cost of 400 to 700 dollars. The board plans to ask Milam County to consolidate Yarrellton with Cameron ISD or assess fair transfer charges after TEA consultation. Principal C. L. Sadberry and eleven teachers were reappointed. bids were awarded for cafeteria equipment and repairs. a tax structure for sinking fund and maintenance was approved. vermin extermination in cafeterias was ordered as the meeting adjourned with a bare quorum and a note to see the back page.
