Invention to Combat Grasshoppers in Cotton Fields
Description of a mobile grasshopper trap using a wooden trough filled with water and kerosene, dragged by horses along cotton rows. The device uses an oil cloth screen to soak insects, with a 50 to 75 acre per day capacity and a price range of five to ten dollars. Forty gallons of grasshoppers were killed in a 300 yard field.
