Wilson Ledbetter Park and its troubled history in Cameron

The 25 acre Wilson Ledbetter Park on Salem Road has roots dating to 1914 when Lizzie B. Wilson deeded land for a playground and park for residents. The lake and former facilities hosted church groups, scouts and veterans, but pollution, maintenance challenges and limited funds cloud its future. Local groups propose riverbank sod, deeper lake work, and a silting pond, while city priorities focus on roads and urban renewal.
