San Gabriel Dams Get 6 8 Million Public Works Bill
Senate action on a public works bill allocates 6 8 million for the San Gabriel Dam Project. Funds cover North Fork and Lane Port dams, real estate acquisitions, and outlet works including a diversion tunnel. A new county road to North Lake Subdivision to Booty’s Crossing nears completion and is due two weeks. Hog Prices Jump at Cameron Livestock Auction
Hog prices rose again at Cameron Livestock Auction with barrows and sows $6 higher per hundredweight. Receipts fell to 354 cattle and calves offered, down from 742 last week and 700 a year ago as cattlemen hold back while beef prices remain frozen until September 12.
