In Grand Prairie Texas on Saturday night a melee broke out after a spectator insulted a woman in klan regalia. Two men were arrested as seven Dallas deputy sheriffs ended the fight. Sidney Burk was seriously injured by a knife. A pistol was shown during the melee. About 250 klan members from Dallas participated.

A special sermon for Boy Scouts was preached Sunday morning at the Episcopal church by Rev. J. P. Love. The Rosebud Scouts on a camping trip to Little River were in attendance and the local troops under Matula Hackabeil and Rodesney attended in a body. Rev. Love is council chairman here and active in scout work. The service was enjoyed by the Scouts.
J C Martin has been elected president of the Cameron Lions Club and has begun duties. At his inauguration he urged prompt meetings and swift business, asking members to cooperate in advancing service to Cameron and Milam County for continued progress.
Construction is under way on an addition to Cameron Fruit Company’s warehouse facilities. The iron and frame building will nearly double capacity and provide much needed storage. S. Kestenbaum, manager, has built a leading wholesale firm and helped keep Cameron in the city’s top wholesale centers.
Monday evening a watermelon feast at Wayside Inn honored Mr. and Mrs. McCrory of Ardmore Oklahoma visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lane Thomas. Attendees included the honorees and couples Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Stafford Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Levy Mr. and Mrs. A. I. Schiller Mr. and Mrs. Don Eplen and Morris Eplen.
Mr and Mrs Dan Tyson and their children Jane and Sam have returned home after more than a week away in Galveston and Austin. They left Austin Monday afternoon after visiting relatives and report an enjoyable trip with rest beneficial to Mr Tyson who is the assessor and collector for Cameron city.
An advice column warns that excess meat can produce uric acid and stress kidneys. It recommends Jad Salts or a similar remedy, four ounces daily in water, to flush kidneys and ease bladder and urinary issues, plus drinking plenty of water.
E A Bigbee is named agent for Magnolia Oil Company succeeding J H Du Bois who left to join Gunn Oil. The appointment effective Friday July 15 follows over a year of Bigbee selling Magnolia products at the local Magnolia station. B L Archer succeeds Bigbee as station manager.
Walter F. Sharpe owner of the Palace of Sweets expands offerings with sundries and toilet articles. He reports improved appearance and good patronage as the new lines attract customers. Last winter the shop added United Cigar Store products and that has been successful.
J H DuBois resigns from Magnolia Petroleum as agent and distributor for the territory and purchases an interest in Gunn Oil Company. He will join Cameron based services in the new venture alongside Wilson Gunn whose Cameron business began July 1 and has shown strong patronage.
The firm announces it has become owners of Gunn Oil Company and will begin active cooperation to provide the public with the best in service and asks for patronage.
