The driver of a coupe fled after a collision that involved a second car and a pedestrian. Investigating officers found multiple cases of contraband corn whiskey in the car, as reported by the Columbia Record in Columbia South Carolina.
A Hearne man died and another was injured with second degree burns when an explosion occurred under a house where they were repairing water pipes. The caretaker reported a nearby butane pipe may have released gas and heard a knocking before the blast.

Holland’s dismissal followed an executive-session dispute and occurred 12 hours before the city bank was robbed on July 15.
