Argument Ends In Shooting In Cameron Lounge
Larry Westbrook an 18 year old Cameron resident remained in satisfactory condition at Scott and White Memorial Hospital Temple after an overnight shooting in a local lounge during an argument. Milam County Sheriff's office said Westbrook was shot once in the chest with an automatic pistol. Robert Mitchell 51 of Cameron was charged with felonious assault by Cameron Justice of the Peace Jess Brock and released on a $3000 bond.
City to consult experts on street paving plan
The Cameron city street committee and planning commission will hire Cason and Associates of Waco to study paving options and drainage needs. A town hall meeting will present any proposed plan. various financing methods were discussed, including volunteer assessments and water-bill charges. An accidental alarm at Newton Memorial Hospital prompted a brief volunteer fire response with no fire.
