State to Expand School Program to Include Vocational College Classes

A new statewide plan will place select high school students into community college classrooms starting September. The program, approved by the State Board of Education, aims to extend vocational courses via contracts with colleges like Temple Junior College and TSTI in Waco, assisting districts lacking vocational facilities. Local districts, including Cameron, will study use but not launch immediately, with mid term setup a possibility. The initiative shifts costs and scheduling to the School Foundation Program, paying districts 264 dollars per student annually.
