The filing notes strong backing for Dr. Brooks in the U S Senate contest with Judge Riddle’s followers leaning to Brooks. Straw votes and Dallas Times-Herald reports back the lead position. Pat M. Neff will campaign for Brooks in Rockdale on Friday July 14 and Cameron on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
County Commissioner M. W. Tyson leads road work on Salem road this week focusing on drainage and stronger bridges. He emphasizes prudent use of public funds and reports improved county roads and bridges in his precinct, pledging continued service if reelected.
Allen Hooks sheriff of Milam County announces a public auction in Cameron Texas on August 1 1916 to satisfy a Washington County judgment against Tom Marek J W Marek and W R Newton. The sale covers East one third of Lot 13 Block 27 and West two thirds of Lot 14 Block 27 Buckholts with a 20 by 115 feet footprint. The property is adjoining Buckholts Mercantile Company and levied as the defendant Tom Marek's property to satisfy the 4582 73 plus costs. Sale conducted at the Cameron Court House door between 10 am and 4 pm with cash.
An ice cream supper will be held at Lilac School on July 20. Everyone is invited especially the candidates who will have an opportunity to announce their plans and ideas.

Publication once weekly for three weeks in Cameron Herald starts June 26 1916.
