Drouth Danger Warns Of Stock Poisoning By Forage

Morrison's Feed warns that stored silage can be safe after several months but Sudan grass is less likely to poisoning than sorghums. Poisoning strikes quickly, often within minutes of grazing even small amounts, leaving little time for treatment. Safe grazing: turn low value stock into the field first, then release rest if no symptoms. Glucose in rumen and a starch seed like corn can help prevent trouble.
