No Highway Mishaps Reported For Milam During Holidays

John F. Radtke a former Cameron resident died Monday morning June 28 in Fort Worth where he lived with daughter Edna Radtke Shurbet after a 2 1/2 year illness. Born May 27 1862 in Washington County Texas he lived in Cameron 48 years as a butcher and retired 1922. Survived by son Sam Radtke of Rockdale two daughters Mary Radtke of Cameron Lillian Moberg East St Louis and Edna Shurbet with seven grandchildren eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral 3:30 June 29 Tarveson Cole Chapel burial Garden of Memories pallbearers grandsons and great grandsons.

Highway 190 from Cameron toward the Bell County line is 96 percent finished with full completion expected in about 30 days as weather cooperates. Buckholts Yarrellton FM 485 is 87 percent complete with bridges done and graveling about four fifths finished. A two mile resurfacing near Cameron on Highways 36 and 77 is underway under late 1953 to early 1954 contracts with an estimated two months to finish.
