A M Camp 91 Confederate veteran and one of two Civil War survivors in Milam County died at his son H H Camp’s San Gabriel home after a short illness on July 3 1959. He leaves five sons and two daughters. funeral held July 8 at 9 30 a m with Rev P T Ramsey delivering the sermon. He was born in Monroe Georgia came to Texas 51 years ago and became a large landowner near San Gabriel.
Claudette Colbert and James Stewart headline It's a Wonderful World opening Sunday at Cameron Theatre. Stewart plays a private detective entwined in a murder case with Edwina Corday with Colbert as poet Edwina aiding the search. Supporting names include Guy Kibbee Nat Pendleton Frances Drake Edgar Kennedy and Ernest Truex. The production features forty seven sets around New York and is directed by W S Van Dyke II, known for The Thin Man.
The motor bus in Coach L C Wood's care was purchased by the Athletic Council not the School Board as printed. The council bears the obligation and will pay for the bus as funds are accumulated.

Commissioner B M McMillion fills in as county judge for three weeks during Jeff T Kemp’s vacation in New York City. He continues to serve as Precinct 1 commissioner and remains a busy official, rarely in his office except to open daily mail.
Construction began on a Bear Creek bridge along the Salem road. Commissioner R G Stidham of Precinct 2 estimated completion in about ten days.
The Bryan City Council postponed any rodent control effort after a film by a local rodent control firm was shown last night. No action was taken.
The annual community revival at Maysfield opens Friday June 7 at 8 15 p m with Rev D L Blackwell of Rosebud Methodist Church preaching and Mrs Blackwell leading singing. Two daily services are planned at 11 a m and 8 15 p m at the tabernacle under construction. the public is invited.
The Rotary Club heard a piano and reading program by Miss Elizabeth Sprott, an accomplished musician, while Captain Tappe of the Texas Safety Council did not attend his scheduled address.
Due to the absence of Rev. J. P. Love there will be no church service next Sunday.

Representatives of the International Unit Machins Corporation of Dallas were in Cameron yesterday to adjust the court house clock. The clock had been re installed with an electric timing system but contacts were mis set. A periodical check up will be made by the firm’s representatives.
Mrs. Martin Povalek, 74, of Elm Ridge, died at home Wednesday after a long illness. Funeral services set for Friday at 9 AM at Orthotic cemetery with Rev Henry Gottechalk of St. Monica's officiating. Burial in Catholic cemetery. Survived by four adopted children.
Miss Mary and Irene O'Neill daughters of Mr and Mrs Ray ONeill have been invited to take part in the Old Settlers Reunion in Falls County. The event starts July 20 and lasts two to three days with the O Neills performing under FB Hess of Lurin guiding the program at Tomlinson Hill near Marlin. Descendants of Sterling C Robertson colonies Old Nashville and Tenochtitlan Burlington will attend.
Last week's ad listed towels with a limit of six per customer while candy was priced at 100 per pound with a five pound limit. The error misapplied limits to towels only, causing significant disruptions at the store and customer confusion.

Miss Frances Blaylock marries William Peter Newton of Wichita Falls at twilight in the Blaylock garden before an altar of palms. The ceremony featured Mendelssohn music, bride in blue cornflower chiffon, and guests in formal attire with family observers including Miss Lucile Dickard and Mrs. L. L. Blaylock.
