Ample preparations for a large crowd were thwarted by heavy rain. About 1000 locals attended despite the downpour as the park flooded and meals were moved to the Alliance store building. The day ended with Providence and communal cheer, replacing planned events with a simple public dinner.

Options include planting cotton, continuing corn as forage, or sowing drought tolerant crops like kaffir corn, milo maize, sorghum, German millet, field peas, and Spanish peanuts.
