Mary Strickland 81 of Cameron died June 25 with graveside service June 29 at Oak Hill Cemetery. John Johnny G. Surovik 63 of Temple died June 26 with graveside service July 1 at Seaton Cemetery. District Court Dockets Felony Dispositions June 22 26 2009

In Ed Magre's 20th Judicial District four defendants faced pleas and sentences for felonies during the June 22 26 2009 period. Dennis Preston Ruzicka Jr of Cameron got 12 months state jail for a guilty plea to Injury to a Child Reckless. Reginald Eugene Wade of Austin received eight years deferred adjudication probation plus restitution 1200 and substance evaluation after pleading guilty to Burglary of Habitation. Demarcus Tindle of Rockdale drew fifteen years confinement for Aggravated Robbery and five years for Aggrevated Assault with sentences running concurrently after probation revocation. Richard Alan Shafer of Rockdale received two years state jail with three year probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance Less Than One Gram, plus a 1500 fine and 140 restitution.
