Brown recluse spider described by Texas A&M experts
Entomologists at Texas A&M University describe the brown recluse as less potent than the black widow but capable of causing sickness and pain in people. The spider is shy and non aggressive, and feeds on flies and other insects. It ranges from orange yellow to dark brown or almost black, about three tenths to a half inch long with short hairy body and legs.
