J E Chandler 63 died January 24 1950 in Santa Fe Hospital Temple after a long illness, retired Santa Fe signal maintainer. Survived by widow Margaret Chandler of Cameron, three daughters Naomi Elliott Gladyne Doyle Gwen Hemphill, a son Tom Frank Chandler, his mother Lula Chandler, three sisters and a brother. Funeral services by Rev W H Hall Thursday January 26 at 2 pm at Green's Chapel with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The Cameron Yeomen 1949 football squad was feted at a high school gym banquet with over 400 fans, the largest turnout for a Cameron football event. Funeral services for James Howard Kirk were held at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Milano conducted by Rev. H. A. Spell. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery. Phillips Luckey Funeral Home of Rockdale directed arrangements. Kirk died from injuries received near a drilling rig in Van Horn and in El Paso Hospital a day later. Ex service men from Milano served as pallbearers.
