Miss Lena Triggs hosted a Smart Set afternoon featuring a 42 game at her North Cameron home. Miss Willie Hefley won first prize and Miss Ningie McIver the consolation. A two course luncheon followed amid fashion frill as Miss Thomas hosted another elegant 42 session with five tables and prizes including a yellow silk kerchief and lace garters.

Memorial Services Held For Gordon Longstreet Leaders
A meeting of the Ben McCulloch camp United Confederate Veterans at Cameron courthouse on January 15 resolved to arrange commemorations for Generals Gordon and Longstreet, the last of Lee’s lieutenants and Gordon the former commander in chief. A committee presented the program including songs prayers scripture reading and prayers by Rev. C. C. Weaver and Rev. Jas A. Challenner.
