Dr. Waldo Semon of B F Goodrich told the National Farm Chemurgic council that alfalfa, long tied to livestock feeding, may become a favored human food as science unlocks its nutritional value. He noted high quality protein minerals and vitamins in hay and urged developing methods to convert it into palatable human food while mechanization reduces overproduction pressures. He cited the farm wood lot as an example of up grading to higher value products beyond firewood.
