Pioneer Shipper Batte Returns to Fort Worth Market
R. L. Batte of Cameron, a longtime Fort Worth market shipper, sent 2 loads of steers averaging 1150 pounds to the scales on a bid of 11.25. The cattle were yarded in the quarantine section while Batte also farms extensively and runs an oil mill in Cameron. The sale was handled by George R. Barse Commission Company with Batte’s patronage dating back about 25 years.
