Trade Forecasts and Confidence in 1934 Advertising
A review of early year trade predictions shows national manufacturers and distributors still optimistic about a continued recovery four years after prior gains. Retail momentum is seen in March, with January and February expected to rise in distributions as buyers flock to New York, and Spring sales slated for completion this month. Winthrop Hoyt notes many clients are increasing 1934 advertising budgets, while some fear the lack of a reliable confidence index. The outlook reflects faith in the President's drive to restore normal conditions.
