Regulations To Govern Fuel Allocations For Agriculture
The House Agriculture Committee heard William E. Simon announce revised fuel allocation rules placing agriculture in Category 2 with energy producers and public transit. Farmers would receive 110 percent of their base period consumption from Nov 1972 to Nov 1973, plus a 3 percent reserve for hardship cases. Senator Bob Poage pressed for action amid widespread farmer fuel shortages and requests for relief.
