Hilliard F Smith 87 a Texan pioneer and builder died at 1 40 am Tuesday in his Cam home after a fall from stairs on December 27 his health had been failing since 1939 He was born in 1853 in a lower Colorado valley plantation near Bastrop and helped transform East Texas timber and shingle industries. He married Viola Oxsheer in 1875 and celebrated 65th anniversary in 1940.
