Farm Bureau seeks extension on 1970 Act programs
Texas Farm Bureau President J. T. Woodson announced support for a temporary extension of the 1970 Farm Act when Congress convenes. Delegates at the American Farm Bureau Federation meeting in Los Angeles backed policies favoring no expansion of grazing, no harvesting of any commodity, and opposition to per farm payment limits. The group urged market oriented programs and a land retirement plan to ease producer adjustment while seeking protection for other commodities and a peanut program objective.
