Deep Test Drilling Planned Across Gulf Acreage Near Johnson Well

Drilling and production noted as Gulf developments proceed. W R Robison of Muskogee and ex Governor C M Haskell of Oklahoma hold 1000 acres near the Johnson well and plan a deep test within three weeks on the J W Davis tract. Other tests are planned by Clark and Michalk for T S Henderson near Thorndale. The Davis well lies about two and a half miles from Johnson between San Gabriel and Alligator Creek. San Antonio reports a fourth planned deep test in the area, with Rogers and Dern poised to drill as acreage is secured. Johnson currently yields about one barrel per hour. If contracts hold, four wells could be drilled soon, with further wells if production justifies. The Sharpe and Tracy communities expect a deep test, while Nick McBurnett reports large lease blocks and an imminent drilling contract. Branchville sees major activity with rising lease prices, though company details remain unclear. The Texas Gas Company may show interest between Milano and Gause amid ongoing leasing. P E Wi, once Oklahoma and Kansas resident, prepares to drill the Boohr tract on Cedar Creek near Milano. Hill and associates hold about 6000 acres. North of Little River, development lags despite veteran oilmen’s optimism about the structure. Interment was in North Elm cemetery. Mrs. Schultz leaves a daughter and three sons. Pallbearers were Lee Fuller, Henley Maddox, Homer Fuller, Earl Armstrong, F R Kolba, and Clinard.
