March of Dimes Dance and Contest Raises Funds
About 150 people attended the March of Dimes dance at Buckholts Friday night boosting the campaign with 655 toward the 8500 goal. Winners included Thomas Harwell Cameron 1st prize Henry Richards Cameron 2nd prize Alfons Tomek Rt 2 Buckholts 3rd prize. New queen Susan Simms Thorndale crowned. Other winners were Pat Horelica Claudette Sanders Kathy Hairston and Mary Ellen Ortega. A Rockdale record hop benefit follows Feb 28 with Mary Ellen Ortega and Margia Zamora in charge. Proceeds support the Milam County MOD.

Milam County Farm Income Drops Amid Diversified Agriculture
Milam County gross farm income fell from 32 million in 1973 to 28 million in 1974, with cotton and cattle taking the largest hits. Beef cattle sales plunged from 10.5 million to 5.1 million, cotton dropped to an estimated 2.7 million, and hogs slipped from 2.5 million to 2.0 million. Grain sorghum offset little of the loss, while hay, wheat, and pecans contributed modest gains. Increased production costs further reduced net agricultural income for 1974. The Yee High senior class will present M A S H in two acts Thursday and Friday at 7:30 in the Ben Milam cafeteria, with proceeds supporting senior activities.
