Washington County Representative Unseated on Draft Obstruction Charge
The American Party member Henry Neinast from Washington County had his seat declared vacant by the Texas House 114 to 13 after finding he pleaded guilty to obstructing the draft. Neinast left the chamber, refused to vote, and debated whether to seek re election.
